Dometic to Launch Eskimo Ice 1000X at IBEX

The new Eskimo Ice 1000X is an industry first, providing titanium durability, a compact design, and high ice output

Pompano Beach, Fla., – Sept. 29, 2016 – Dometic Marine, a division of Dometic Group, a global provider of leisure products for the marine, truck, RV and automotive markets, today announced that it will be showcasing the Dometic Eskimo Ice 1000X, which now incorporates a revolutionary new titanium tube condenser, at the International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in October. The Eskimo Ice 1000X (EI1000X) makes up to 1,000 pounds of ice per day and is smaller, lighter, and more durable than any other icemaker in the industry.

Use of a titanium condenser in a fishbox ice maker is an industry first. Titanium is unaffected by saltwater and invasive marine life and withstands the harsh acids used for routine cleaning of the condenser. “Cupronickel condensers are standard in the marine industry, and all face erosion and corrosion vulnerabilities which lead to eventual failure,” said Ned Trigg, Executive VP of Marine at Dometic Americas, “but the titanium condenser in the EI1000X actually extends service life.”

The EI1000X is slimmer and shorter than previous versions and is also 10 pounds lighter, so it is easy to maneuver and install.  In addition, the unit’s cover panels are removable to help angle it through small openings, and its detachable frame helps get it through even smaller hatches. Even when the frame is detached the components remain assembled for easy reconstruction once in position.

The EI1000X generates ice within minutes and produces up to 1,000 pounds of ice per day. That’s more than enough ice for sport fishers to keep their biggest catch in pristine condition.

Attendees at IBEX, which will be held Oct. 4-6 in Tampa, Fla., will be able to see the new Eskimo Ice 1000X at Booth #1605.
